I just completed His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman.
No doubt it was a long read, the last book was almost 600 pages thick. However this trilogy have actually elaborated on the characters so detailedly that i actually feel for the Lyra and Will towards the end. All these about daemons and worlds and Authority, i myself was immersed in the world of fantasy that i can imagine how it would be like living there and i want a daemon!
Anyhow, the story concluded quite fittingly although it was a sad ending. Yes i really felt sad for them. The power of books is second to none, it compels the imaginations within us and the feeling of living in a book is just totally unique.
With regards to the controversy surrounding the author's viewpoint of the church as portrayed, well my condolences that they are so unlucky to be the subject of debate in this FICTIONAL book.
Anyhow it's still a great read whether you're agnostic, an atheist, apathetic or a believer of any faith.

I've just downloaded Google Earth (I know i'm slow) and it seems like a fun application! Found out the distance of my running route at ECP, although i was a bit dismayed.
Random rotated the globe, like rotating a mouse-ball and i landed in ETHIOPIA! Not that there is much there, just patches of green and brown with no signs of civilization... oh well.

Stay-over at Wilson's last night, boy he was a dam good host serious. We should crash his house more often. We swam, used the jacuzzi, sauna, had dinner, watched ManU vs Liverpool, learned piano, chilled around in the room and H2H (again yes) followed by breakfast! We actually had 8 hours of sleep during a stay-over which is quite a miracle.

Rushed home and rushed down to sharon's (YISHUN) for her birthday! Chilled around for a while before a buffet dinner and played Texas Hold 'em Poker. Sorry Sharon that we left earlier =/
Caught Warlords at AMK Hub. First time i stepped into that place but i barely had a chance to look around since we were late for the movie.
WarLords - 3/5 Stars
The stellar cast was partly the reason why i caught this movie. I also like such war/battle movies about camaraderie and etc. However it was so disappointing that there were so much ______ in the movie and yada yada no spoilers i know... Felt that the ending could be better though. Nevertheless it's quite a not bad movie.

Sending shen off at the airport in the morning/afternoon was a sentimental/sad/emo affair. Not that he is never coming back, he's still going to come get his results in Feb. But we're at the crossroads of our lives now, each person will choose his own path to tread on. Whether with friends or without friends by our side. Really sad to part but i still wish him all the best in whatever he decides to pursue.
There was a little camwhoring done, ok fine alot of camwhoring followed by a 6 hour H2H session at starbucks.

Went to meet up with some peeps from 4A (sidney, weijean, winston, jianhan and ME). Lousaye merly couldn't make it because of some surprise b-dae party.
We walked like 1 million miles around clark quay and boat quay to look for food. Pasta Fresca Da Salvatore was yummy. Then followed by walking again to look for eski bar, which was really small and very disappointing. So we decided to head back to Timbre @ Arts house.
Ordered some drinks and pizza and salad. Sex on the Beach! Who doesn't like it right?. right.
The live band was pretty good. Female singer has a nice voice. Fendi & Fatt if im not wrong.

OSOS MALAYSIA TRIP!
Needless to say we had major loads of fun. 5 days of holidays with OSOS totally rocks my socks. shopping@ sungei wan, chinatown and berjaya times square + sunway lagoon + Genting!!
We did the most retarded stuffs of all and the point is we had fun, although to others we most probably seem like public disturbance.
We set new trends! rafting on boats in genting theme park, photo-taking at Eye on Msia, and im sure new trends will start like sitting in circles at shopping centers (instead of relac one corner), and dancing to passers-by in hotel rooms.

I think that this trip might be one of the last and best times we will ever have as a squad with so many people.
we're 18 already and becoming adults, very soon our paths will diverge and we will lead different lives with different schedules.
no longer will we be enthusiastic spontaneous teenagers anymore after we come out from NS or start college.
Hopefully those that leave for overseas will try our very best to keep in touch and whatever that happens in the future, we must not forget the good memories we had! The fact that we are OSOS will never be erased or forgotten!

h man it's been a whirlwind the past 2 days. Going to town to shop with chubba, post-prom party, stayover at qichao's, golden compassing@cathay, lamian&xiaolongbao + chillin@starbucks-marina, trip to CMPB for photo-taking, airport to send andre off@sakae and meetup with wilson and eva@fishnco.
And finally tomorrow is da big event - MALAYSIA!!!
I will be going from tomorrow till the 12th of December to KL and Genting with my OSOS. Hope we have a hell lot of fun there - our first overseas trip man how cool is that. Prays that it doesn't rain and spoil our plans to sunway lagoon and genting!

The Golden Compass - 4/5 Stars
I highly anticipated this movie since i loved the book and i'm quite satisfied with it i guess. I like seeing how the daemons actually transformed and follow the humans. I would wanna have one too and a snow leopard looks dam cool. Ok anyway, they cut and edited a lot of the book (as expected). The movie was less than 2 hours and i don't see why they couldn't just extend the movie longer and actually show more scenes from the book. Lord Asriel cheated my feelings, he appeared for a total of less than 5 minutes the entire movie.
Nonetheless it still rocks because the trilogy rocks and don't boycott it just because you are being a childish narrow-minded person.Labels: movie

Heroes Season 2 was so screwed and i didn't really like the ending. Stupid writers...
I wont tell you guys who died as i don't wanna spoil the series but there's a lot of unfinished business left!!
Hiro Nakamura still rocks the most! Peter Petrelli is abit dense actually given his abilities he trusts the wrong person and has close to zero common sense at all.
Hope Season 3 : Villains will be out ASAP!
